Description

A fine day indeed in the midst of a set of vibrant woods, the setting sunlight warming the ruins of an ancient structure, perhaps a small house or sentry post. A dirt-caked, broken path leads up to and through the ruins within a clearing maybe perfect for setting up camp for the night. A beautiful tree stands guard at the ruins, rich with red apples just waiting to be picked, as the leaves in the trees sway gently in the breeze. Nothing could go wrong here, right?

Encounter Hook

Approaching a clearing up ahead in the woods lies a set of ruins. Despite the quiet calm all around, on closer inspection a number of shadows can be seen dancing across the rocks. Nothing appears to be creating these shadows, but they flit here and there nonetheless. As the party approaches, however, the dancing stops. The shadows begin to coalesce into one larger dark shadow, which then surges forward with ice cold ferocity.
