Description
Brutal, chilling winds blast onto this dark cliff edge, in the broken wastes of a land cast eternally in shadow. The seemingly infinite vortex beyond the ridge draws in the eye, leaving those who look upon it with a black chasm of emptiness in their soul. And yet, those catching sight of this vortex might look at the edge of the cliff as a mere obstacle, a desperate thought rising from deep within them that stepping off into that darkness is an absolute must, the only answer to that sorrow, to the emptiness within.
Encounter Hook
As the party fights the torture being wrought in their very souls whilst traversing this land of dark sorrow, they may well win out, beating down these rising thoughts that might have led them to take a leap into that inciting vortex. But the winged denizens of this black land, who have spent their turgid lives attempting wherever possible to alleviate an otherwise innate lack of motivation, might resent this party, all that hope and visible emotion serving to mock their miserable existence.
