Description
The sound of this gentle waterfall echoes along these underground corridors, presenting on the face of it a lovely, serene location to rest and reflect. Perhaps the party finds itself at the railings overlooking the falls, as the water moves peacefully underneath. Or, as is more likely, maybe it has been gliding or wading through a subterranean stream and finds itself at the crest of the falls. What is that curious plaque fixed on the wall beneath those railings? It seems to depict some sort of sea creature, perhaps, but why does it begin to glow and ripple?...
Encounter Hook
This legendary waterfall presents itself only if it is not being sought. Its location shifts at random, and will be stumbled upon in the darkest corners underground. At the last moment, therefore, the party might need to act quickly to stop itself careering over the crest of the falls as they appear, or from drowning as the tunnel it walks transforms in an instant to a pool at the foot of the waterfall. This glowing plaque on the wall might animate creatures beneath the surface of the water, or might poison the water, or might fire out bolts of energy. Whatever happens, however, if it survives here the party won't likely go looking for these falls ever again.
